Las Vegas has a total of fourteen acute care hospitals with 1-2 new hospitals being built each year. Three major healthcare corporations own the majority of the Las Vegas hospitals. Universal Health System owns and operates the Valley Health System, including Valley, Desert Springs, Summerlin and Spring Valley Hospital Medical Centers. Catholic Healthcare West (CHW) owns and operates St. Rose Dominican Hospitals with three campuses – Rose de Lima, Sienna and San Martin. HCA Healthcare owns and operates the Sunrise Healthcare System, including Sunrise, Sunrise Children’s, Mountain View and Southern Hills Hospitals. Other Las Vegas Hospitals include University Medical Center (UMC), North Vista Hospital and Boulder City Hospital.
